Recent onset pleural pulmonary infection with Aspergillus complicating corticosteroid therapy for Wegener's granulomatosis, that had responded to therapy., Image B. Chest x-ray September 2001. X-ray shows pleural fibrosis with massive contraction of the right hemithorax. He has been treated with both itraconazole and amphotericin B, but the pleural cavity contained foul smelling brown pus consistent with a secondary bacterial (anaerobic) infection.
