Nominations for the Medical Mycology Society of the Americas annual awards are now open!
Every year MMSA recognizes outstanding medical mycologists at their annual meeting and banquet during the ASM General Meeting.
The following awards have been made possible by generous donations from current and past members of MMSA:
- Rhoda Benham Award in Medical Mycology
- Billy H. Cooper Award in Medical Mycology
- Thomas J. Walsh Award Young Investigator Award
- Milton Huppert Graduate Student Award
- IMMY Student Travel Awards
- Carlyn Halde Latin American Student Travel Award
Nominations are due by March 1, 2018!
Below are the awards that the MMSA are soliciting nominations for and the Chairperson for each award review.
Rhoda Benham Award in Medical Mycology – Josh Nosanchuk, Chair josh.nosanchuk@einstein.yu.edu
This award is presented to an individual from the Americas for continuous outstanding or meritorious contributions to medical mycology.
Billy H. Cooper Award in Medical Mycology – Rob Cramer, Chair Robert.A.Cramer.Jr@dartmouth.edu
This award is presented to an individual from the Americas for continuous outstanding achievement in clinical mycology.
Thomas J. Walsh Award Young Investigator Award – George Deep, Chair deepegs@ucmail.uc.ed
This award is presented to an Instructor, Assistant Professor, or equivalent junior faculty staff member for distinguished early achievements and promising potential for future contributions to the field of medical mycology.
Milton Huppert Graduate Student Award – Bettina Fries, Chair Bettina.Fries@stonybrookmedicine.edu
