Confidentiality/Privacy
The Aspergillus Website collects some personal information (e.g. name, email address) when users register and this information is stored in a secure database. NOTE: This is an insecure way of sending information so be careful to use non-sensitive details that cannot be misused.
The e-mail address will be used to send confirmation of your username and password, and will be used to send you emails containing notifications of our new additions and updates. Details of how to unsubscribe can be found in your Profile Page – click on ‘Notification settings’.
Newsletters
Our monthly newsletters are distributed using Your Mailing List Provider – see their privacy policy by clicking on the link. You can unsubscribe from our monthly newsletters using this form;

All of this data is only accessible by website and database managers and will never be used for any other purpose other than that for which it was submitted or sold on to third parties.
Users can securely log in to their Profile Page to view what data is held on them (Click on ‘All your data’ tab), and there they have the facility to edit (Click on ‘Edit’ tab) or delete their own record (to delete click on ‘Edit’ tab in your Profile Page, scroll down to the bottom and click on the ‘Cancel Account’ button).
Continuous logs are maintained of The Aspergillus Website web server activity. These log files include the details of your IP address (only for the purpose of estimating your location for crude demographic analysis), browser type, page last visited etc. Log files are used to analyse usage of The Aspergillus Website, and may be kept in an anonymised form for historical records.
Some parts of The Aspergillus website may use cookies for security purposes (e.g. to save the user from having to re-enter their details for every page in a section of the site). If you email us to ask a question, report a fault etc, we will only use the personal data you provide to reply to your message. We do not keep this information, or share it with any third party unless you have consented to this or this is so permitted by law.
Google Analytics
Currently we are using Google Analytics to analyze the audience of the website and improve our content. No personal information is collected from Google Analytics and they only collect obfuscated IP addresses from us, thus protecting your identity.
