Abstract:

No abstract. First paragraph: There is little information in the literature on the treatment of fungal diseases, particularly aspergillosis, with itraconazole in reptiles (Heatley and others 2001). The use of itraconazole in reptiles has largely been extrapolated from birds (Gamble and others 1997) or mammals (Heatley and others 2001). Most reports of the medical treatment of fungal infections have involved the use of ketoconazole (Page and others 1988, 1991), which has less therapeutic effect on Aspergillus species than itraconazole (van Cauteren and others 1987, Jacobson and others 2000).
