No abstract. First paragraphs: Aspegillus infection has been recognized since 1842, when Bennett described this fungus as a rather harmless and widely distributed parasite which causes pulmonary aspergillosis in men and animals.!

!Most of the cases reported in the literature have occurred in France and Italy and only a few cases of primary lung aspergillosis are on record in the medical literature of this country, which proves that this condition is very rare in the United States.
